Power Electronics
Solar panels produce DC at a voltage that changes with the sun. Wind turbines produce AC at a frequency that changes with the wind. Batteries charge and discharge in DC. The grid wants AC at a fixed voltage and frequency. Power electronics is the engineering that connects all of them, efficiently and safely. This track focuses on the electronics: the switches, converter circuits, gate drivers, magnetics, losses and thermal design inside every renewable energy converter.
