Statistics track

Statistics for Daily Use

From first principles to the methods practitioners actually reach for, in twelve visual chapters. No toy numbers: each idea is demonstrated on real crude prices, refinery runs, exploration wells and oil fields, with the SQL and Python to reproduce it.

How the course is built

  • Picture first. Every concept starts with a diagram or a live chart; formulas follow as compact cards.
  • Real data, real answers. Numbers in the text are computed from the datasets (in PostgreSQL and Python on the lab VM in AWS) and bound into the page — rerun the pipeline and the text updates.
  • Interactive. Sliders and simulators let you draw samples, move a cutoff, or change a sample size and watch the statistics respond.
  • Short. Each chapter ends with key takeaways and a 3-question self-check.
